A little while ago, a girl named Lilly asked me to review The Treatment, but I had never read the book, so I looked it up and found out that it was a second book to The Program. Obviously I had to read the first book, and I couldn't put it down. Once I got to the second book I was so excited to see how the story continued.
I know it is a little strange that I am reviewing the second book before the first book, but I really wanted to get this out so Lilly could read what I thought! I'll review the first book tomorrow :)
IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE PROGRAM, BEWARE THIS MIGHT RUIN IT A LITTLE BIT! VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK LOL!
I was a huge fan of The Program, so my hopes were high that The Treatment would follow its footsteps. Sadly, I wasn't as impressed with this one as I was with The Program. What didn't work for me though was the beginning. I thought it was a train wreck until the novel started to get better towards the ending. The Treatment is broken into three parts. The first two parts we catch up with James and Sloane as they run from The Program and join the rebels in the wild. I loved Sloane and James' relationship in the first novel, but this one... there are no words to describe how much I loved it. Literally no words.
There is one thing I didn't like about the romance... I felt that Sloane was flip flopping between James and Michael, which sucked because she was basically leading Realm on. I felt bad for James and was angry at Sloane because Realm is creepy and UGH!
I like how things start to pick up in the final part of the novel. The action starts and the twists start coming, but it would have been a little better if it started a little sooner in the book.
All in all I loved the book and I'm glad that Lilly recommended it to me! Like I said I will be posting The Program tomorrow or Wednesday!
