First of all I have to say I FOUND THIS BOOK AT THE DOLLAR STORE!! WHAT! Literally I was walking down the isle and happened to stop and look at the books, and I saw this book and nearly died. This is probably the cheapest book I have ever bought, but don't think that since it's from the dollar store that it's terrible... because that would be a lie!
Basically what happens is there is this "medicine" that is supposed to help soldiers with PTSD and it is successful, but it also took away their sense of fear, making them known as the fearless; along with this it makes the fearless not know love and compassion.
Cass is a seventeen year old girl who, during the outbreak seven years ago, was moved to an island with some family friends and others. Unfortunately, not everyone in her family came along. I'm not going to say who or what... SPOILERS ARE A NO, NO! Anyway, her brother is taken away by some fearless, and she is willing to do anything to get him back, including risking the chance to go back to the island; because once you leave it is harder to get back.
During her search to find her brother, she teams up with Myo, who literally is perfect in every way, but like everyone he has secrets. While he is on the island in a cell - he snuck onto the island and got caught- he promises Cass that he will help her find her brother if she helped him escape. Obviously she wasn't going to miss the opportunity for help.
Myo and Cass have many adventures together and they both totally kick ass! (Excuse my French ;)) The action that is going on in this book is AMAZBALLS! After reading this book, my parents asked me if I was ever attacked, would I fight or flight? I totally said fight, but in reality I would probably do both.
Of course the two, Myo and Cass, have to fall in love; it wouldn't be the same without it. I seriously loved it! But, like every relationship, there are issues, lies that break the relationship a tiny bit, but its all good folks. All Goooooood.
There are other characters such as Sol, who grew up with Cass. Sol has this huge crush on Cass and everyone knows it. He has asked Cass out a couple times and she has always said no. At first I thought I liked Sol, but then he goes all psycho... again not saying anything to give something away, and then I totally understand why Cass always said no.
I loved this book so much, I really wanted there to be a second book, but so far I haven't found anything about it. So, in that case... Emma Pass, if you ever come across this blog and read this review, please consider writing a second book, because I am in desperate need to find out what happens to them. :) Everything about this book is perfect. I recommend this book to anyone!
